Built for our roads. Built for our drivers. Built to actually be fair.
Why Kabo exists
Ride-hailing in Nigeria has never really been short of apps. What it's been short of is fairness — drivers giving up a quarter of every fare to a platform, riders never quite sure what a trip will cost until surge pricing changes the number mid-search, and safety treated as an afterthought rather than a promise.
Kabo was built to be the exception, not another app doing the same thing with a different logo.
What we believe
Drivers should keep what they earn. Not most of it — all of it. Kabo runs on a flat, transparent subscription, never a cut of your fare.
Pricing should be honest. One clear number, shown before you book, that doesn't change because it started raining or a match just ended nearby.
Safety isn't a settings menu item. It's verified drivers, real emergency features, and a team that actually reviews every report.
Local means something. We're built around how people in our cities actually move — cash in hand, Keke for a quick trip across town, a car when you need more comfort — not a one-size-fits-all import from somewhere else.
What we're building toward
Kabo starts with rides, but we don't think that's where it should end. Over time, we want Kabo to be the platform that also helps drivers get a better deal on fuel, maintenance, and the everyday costs of keeping a vehicle on the road — not just a place to find a passenger.
Our story
Kabo didn't start with a plan to compete with Uber, Bolt, or inDrive. It started with a simple observation: something that should have been fixed years ago, still hadn't been.
We looked closely at what riders and drivers were actually living with — drivers giving up a quarter of every fare in commission, then driving kilometers just to reach a pickup with nothing to show for it if the rider cancelled along the way. Across the country, drivers have gone on strike, taken their complaints to government commissions, and said plainly that they're working without any real gain. One driver put it simply: some days, a danfo bus driver takes home more than they do.
That's not a small inefficiency. That's a system that stopped working for the people doing the actual driving.
So we built Kabo around a different premise: a driver should keep everything they earn, not hand over a share of it just to be matched with a rider. A driver should be paid for the distance they drive to reach someone, not just the distance after. And if a rider cancels partway through, a driver shouldn't simply absorb that loss alone.
We're proudly building this from [Owerri/Port Harcourt] — not as an outside company entering a market, but as people who live with the same traffic, the same fuel prices, and the same daily reality every rider and driver here already knows. We didn't set out to be cheaper for the sake of it. We set out to be fair, and to prove that fair and sustainable aren't opposites.
We're still early. We're still learning. But everything about how Kabo works — the pricing, the driver pay, the safety features — came from actually looking at what wasn't working, not from copying what already existed.
